Signworld Group on a roll with RollsRoller

Friday, February 4th, 2011

William Smith, established in 1832, are a signage company with over 175 years of business experience. Modern day suppliers of manufacturing equipment, such as large format printers and plotters. One such product is the Rolls Roller, a large material application machine which is vital in the professional manufacturer of signs and graphics. Signworld Group recently featured in an article by William Smith in their Newsletter, ‘forty two’, both in print and online on their website. You can read their article below, along with two images attached of the article and the newsletter.

Signworld Group, Chester recently invested in its second RollsRoller in two years.

The new machine like their previous model, has a flat bed working area of 5400mm x 1700mm and works alongside the existing machine in the company’s finishing department.

Allan Stephenson, Group Managing Director explains, “After seeing the first machine, which was being demonstrated at the NEC Sign Show back in 2008, it was an easy purchasing decision. The machine clearly demonstrated time efficiencies as well as superior product finish and quality.

Since installing the first machine we saw increased manufacturing output with less application errors, resulting in very obvious increased profitability. Our client base is generally blue chip so being able to turn around orders quickly is paramount, these machines consistently ensure that the finish is superior and our many clients have noticed the superior finish and quality to our manufactured goods.”

Signworld was so delighted with the machine that in 2010 they decided to purchase their second RollsRoller which was installed last year. It is already demonstrating huge efficiencies and profitability advantages.

“We have worked closely with the William Smith team over the years and they have proved to be a worthy partner in the supply of materials and hardware.”

Signworld has huge expansion plans for 2011 at their Chester HQ which will increase its size to over 17,000 square foot of prime manufacturing space.

“This exciting expansion will greatly increase our manufacturing and digital print output capabilities and provide additional modern administration facilities,” says Allan Stephenson. “It will also result in further job creation across the group once completed, and will ensure Signworld’s rightful place at the very top of sign and digital print production within the United Kingdom. Naturally, the expansion will result in further hardware purchases and we expect to be discussing our third RollsRoller purchase with William Smith by the summer.”

Introducing the new WOK&GO Website

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

WOK&GO, a fresh Asian food franchise building on its roots in Chester and Liverpool, stretching out all over the UK.

WOK&GO restaurants are all about bringing the great, fresh tastes of Asia right into the heart of your town. WOK&GO provides people with tasty and healthy eating at a reasonable price, with most menu items boasting a minimum of 95% Fat Free. Signworld Group have worked with WOK&GO and its founder, Des Pheby on many different projects including the recent new WOK&GO restaurant openings, which you can read about here. Signworld Media, part of the Signworld Group of Companies, based at Newgate House, are a dedicated design agency, focusing on Website Design, Search Engine Optimisation and E-Consultancy.

WOK&GO approached Signworld Media with a request to bring their restaurant experience to the web. Wanting to capture the relaxed atmosphere, wonderful flavours and experiences available in the restaurant and bring it your web device. What became is a simple to use, effective website focusing on delivering key information in a very easy to access setting. Branded with WOK&GO’s slick logo design and sharp colour scheme and furnished with animations, helping to bring the pages alive, we’re very happy with the finished product.

Not only can users browse the menu available, viewing mouth watering photography of dishes, but they can now place orders online for delivery or collection. Another major part of the WOK&GO website was to deliver information about WOK&GO’s franchise. Having its own dedicated section, accessible from the easy to find navigation links at the top of every page, customers can understand more how WOK&GO operates and those interested in the franchise have more details to act on.

We’re in love with the new website and we can’t wait to see where WOK&GO take it. Be sure to check it out at www.wokandgo.co.uk. You can also visit the Signworld Media website here: www.signworldmedia.com

Signworld Proudly Present… The Wombats

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

2010 has been a fantastic year for Signworld! It’s also been an amazing year for Liverpool based trio, The Wombats.

Earlier this year Signworld where involved in the production of the single cover-art for The Wombat’s 2010 single, ‘Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)‘. The Wombats were looking to show a series of bright colours in an arrangement of a howling wolf set on a self-illuminated light-box. Liverpool based design agency Mercy put out a cry for help on Twitter for anyone who could help. Signworld responded and got right to work right away building a light-box that would allow light to shine through an opal-white face, to help the brightly coloured vinyls glow. The deadline was as tight as they come and Signworld delivered! Mercy were extremely impressed with Signworld’s results. As you can see from the photograph below, the finished article looks fantastic!

Due to the great success of the artwork for the first single, Signworld were approached for their next single ‘Techno Fan‘. Works Director at Signworld, John Biggins explains “Mercy called me with a brief on the new single. The Wombats wanted to portray the lights often seen in urban techno nightclubs. So with a few meetings and some team creative input I suggested that if we fabricated various colours of exposed Neon and placed them inside an aluminium box to keep consistency with the previous single we could really get the desired effect”. What do you guys think, look at the preview below, we think it looks breath-taking!

The new album entitled ‘The Wombat’s Proudly Present…This Modern Glitch‘, to be released early February 2011 will also feature a Signworld masterpiece (watch this space guys). Signworld have thoroughly enjoyed working with the local band and are big fans, wishing them luck with the new releases!

Be sure to check out The Wombats website for more details and for details on how to buy the single.
