Friday, April 15th, 2011

Well renowned Chester based brand specialists, Signworld Group, have recently completed the design, manufacture and installation of exterior signage of a Hoole based revolutionary food outlet. Bakery.com, which doubles up as Pizza.com come nightfall. Bakery.com approached Signworld with another difficult signage request. During the day, Bakery.com offers fresh sandwiches and warm baked products whist at night Pizza.com offers the finest pizza’s – delivery included – and the signage had to boast both of these. Clean, contemporary and corporate was the brief. And just look at the results……

All signage, consisting of a brushed effect pan folded aluminium tray sign, with applied vinyl graphics and CNC machined stood off lettering, etch effect window manifestation window graphics and chunky clear acrylic internal menu boards, were fitted to a very tight deadline, within budget and far and beyond the client’s expectation.

Signworld utilised the expertise of in-house sister companies SmartFab – metal and plastic fabrications – and Sign Maintenance UK – signage installation and maintenance experts, both of which are part of the Signworld Group, to assist with the manufacture and installation of the brand.

Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas find a home in London

Friday, April 1st, 2011

Yohji Yamamoto, a Japanese-Parisian based Fashion Designer has stores in New York, Paris, and Antwerp. In 2001, Yamamoto fused sport and style with Adidas, known as ‘Y-3′. When looking for the perfect location for the flagship store for Y-3, Yamamoto settled on the United Kingdom, specifically London, opposite his Mayfair boutique. JPH Designs, a long serving partner of Signworld Group, was commissioned to turn a prime location in London into the perfect home for Y-3.

Signworld Group have worked with JPH Designs on many high profile projects, for example the fantastic Vivienne Westwood stores across the whole of the UK or the Flannels Designer clothing store in Liverpool. Naturally, with a project like Y-3, when it came to choosing a manufacturer the highest spec external signage, JPH paid Signworld Group a visit. JPH Designs delivered the brief to Signworld Group, who immediately became excited with the proposals. Utilising SmartFab, a Signworld Group company, which operates from within the Broughton based Signworld HQ, a 17,000 sq ft factory space specialising in metal fabrication, meant all work was to be carried out in-house, by Signworld Group employees.

With an extremely tight deadline, Signworld Group had a major task to complete in very little time. SmartFab’s arsenal of the latest fabrication equipment, arming the most creative and skilled engineers, were able to rise to the call of duty and complete the project on time and on budget. The final signage was comprised of a satin black powder-coated finish to an aluminium pan-folded tray with built-up illuminated acrylic letters. An illuminated aluminium projecting sign would complete the suite of amazing signage. The images below do their best, but this sign really must be seen in person to appreciate it’s simple elegance. Signworld Group loved the opportunity to work with JPH Designs once more and Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto.

You can find the new Y-3 Flagship store at Y-3, 54 Conduit Street, London W1S 2XU. On March 10th 2011, Yohji Yamamoto official opened the new store with the help of Zinedine Zidane. Check out the images below.
